I'm trying a new format for our weekly email. The old one is kind of difficult to read and seems very repetitive to me. This week, I'm creating a new blog and emailing it to you. Hopefully, it will be easier to read.
This was a busy week with three of our runners heading to San Francisco for the Nike events, one doing the GoDaddy/YMCA Half (her first) and two doing the SOMA Half-Ironman.
Melissa completed her first marathon in SF and had a great experience. Hollie ran the full with her sister for some sister-sister bonding. Denise ran the half and met both of her goals - pass at least two people on the big hill (she passed WAY more than that) and don't stop for a potty break. She did both of those and had a great finish time as well! Laura ran in her first half-marathon (GoDaddy.com/YMCA) and said everything went just as she wanted. We finished off the week with Kim R. having a major breakthrough and beating her 1/2 IM goal by about 20 minutes! Will also had an amazing race at his first 1/2 IM, coming in WAY ahead of his goal time. GREAT job everyone!!!!! I'm sure I've missed someone because it was such a busy race weekend. If I missed you, please let me know.
We have our usual workouts this week, ending with a run starting at Dunkin Donuts in downtown Tempe. Since we'll finish there as well, we might have to give their pumpkin donuts a try. While we're there, I'd like everyone to help me create the November running calendar.
Please let me know what you think of this new format. There will likely be some technical problems because we're all on different systems with different screens. The only way I'll know if it doesn't work for you is if you tell me.
Have a great week everyone!
